Annie’s class encourages and teaches multi-dimensional movement that emphasizes efficiency of movement, the use of explosive power, sensitivity, texture, phrasing and clarity. The material presented is a progression of physical challenges that inform and builds onto it. The phrases are musically inspired and paced to safely warm up the body and maximize strength and placement. Her approach to teaching dance and yoga is accessible to a broad audience.

Annie’s business and artistic pursuits continue to evolve through her desire to serve the community in which she lives and support dance as a relevant form, capable of enriching and altering many lives.

Emily Daly

Emily Daly-Fromherz is a freelance dancer, movement teacher and arts administrator. Originally from Connecticut, Emily now lives and works in San Francisco and around the Bay Area. Growing up, Emily committed most of her life to her dance training in ballet and contemporary. She was chosen as scholarship student at the American Academy of Ballet, Boston Ballet, the School at Steps NYC, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and the Ailey School.

Emily received her Bachelor of the Arts in Dance from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania where she was able to break free from classical technique to explore new styles of movement and choreography. She completed a focused study period on Tarantella and Tarantismo dance in and around Arezzo, Italy. This study led her to perform with the Terìaca Ensemble in Italian theaters and television.

After graduation, Emily joined Parsons Dance Company in New York City. The company toured extensively, giving her the opportunity to perform on stages throughout the U.S., Italy and Korea. While living in NYC, Emily also collaborated and performed with Bryn Cohn & Artists & members of Stephen Petronio Company. In a moment of spontaneity, Emily bought a one way ticket to San Francisco, where she found a new community of dance. Since arriving she has performed with Risa Jaroslow & Dancers, little seismic dance company, Cali & Co and Human Creature Dance Theater.

Emily is also the General Manager of RoCo Dance in Marin County, CA. With 2 locations and thousands of students, the studio provides an artistic home to many adults and children throughout the North Bay. She works with Annie Parr, the director and founder, to create programs with integrity and originality.

Emily received her 200 yoga teacher training certificate from Pure Yoga in New York City in 2012 with Kay Kay Clivio and Yogi Caru Chandra as her mentors. Since then, Annie Parr & Emily have dreamed up Modern Yoga, a way of moving that merges modern dance techniques and philosophies with a power yoga flow. This class has been a way to weave together all of the things that Emily connects with the most - fluidity, strength, musicality and creativity. This class is accessible to a wide audience and can offer students a deep connection to their bodies, minds and their own creative spirit.
